“Marconi Union – a riveting voice in British electronic music” Clash Magazine
The new single from Marconi Union’s album ‘Dead Air’ (released 29th November) ebbs and flows through layers of icy synths, warm bass tones and swirling electronics. These elements create a sense of anticipation and movement as the track builds and falls away like an iceberg fracturing from a glacier, tying in the album’s title: “Dead Air hints of some kind of ominous, environmental issue” says co-founder Richard Talbot. “That phrase has a certain atmosphere to it that was very attractive to us.”
“”If everything isn’t black & white, I say, “why the hell not”… – John Wayne
“Smell the sea, and feel the sky, Let your soul and spirit fly.”
“Every day I wake up and smile,
Twenty four hours lie ahead of me.
I vow to live each moment fully
And look at all beings with compassionate eyes.”
“I see ambient music as a positive force in our world. It can’t change it but it might be strong enough to inspire people, to help them heal and to spread optimism.”
Today on World Sleep Day 2024 we’re introducing Deep Ambient Sleep – a 24/7 livestream on YouTube featuring ambient tracks in our catalogue, including songs by Jon Hopkins, Marconi Union, Luca Longobardi, Digitonal and many, many more.
