Available for the first time on vinyl
“Since its original release in 2011, Weightless has been the subject of unprecedented media attention. Ironically, this has overshadowed the album’s musicality. Now, for the first time, Weightless is being released on vinyl and we hope that this will allow the album to be heard independently of its reputation.” – Marconi Union
We are delighted to announce that Marconi Union’s seminal 7th studio album Weightless (Ambient Transmissions Vol 2) is now available for the first time on both black and dark green 180gm vinyl.
The album includes the now iconic track ‘Weightless’ – widely considered to be the most relaxing track in the world – but we are hoping that the vinyl release will draw some of the focus away from the normal Weightless story and place it on the musical aspects of the record.
“If an electronic track can be a limpid pool, this one is. Not a ripple touches the surface, not a single speck of dust clouds the glassy stillness. Weightless the album contains five more similarly translucently gorgeous tracks” – The Sunday Times
The album includes 5 more tracks, the latter derived from the ideas of the former, simply entitled Part 1 – Part 6. The tracks are minimal, combining warm drones and drifting sounds with occasional sparse rhythms.
